Get to know Tano in a few minutes: try the editor, then choose between an online workspace and a local folder on your desktop.
Open the demo first
Visit the browser demo without signing in. The document list is on the left. Select "Get started" to open a sample document. You can create a document, rename it, write directly on the page, or use the source button in the upper right to view its Markdown.
Demo content is stored only in this browser. Clearing browser data may remove it, and it will not appear automatically in an online or desktop workspace.
Write your first document
Select the new document control beside "Documents" in the sidebar. Enter a title, then write a paragraph. In an empty paragraph, type / to find block types. Select text to show formatting tools. Changes save automatically to the current workspace.
To edit Markdown directly, select the source button in the upper right. Select "Back to editing" when you are done. Both modes edit the same content. See the editor guide for more.
Choose a workspace
| Option | Best for | Where content is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Browser demo | Trying the interface and editor | This browser's storage |
| Online workspace | Continuing in a browser after signing in | Markdown on the workspace service |
| Local desktop workspace | Working with an existing folder and local tools | .md files in your chosen folder |
These are separate spaces and do not sync automatically. For important content you want to keep, use an online workspace or a local desktop workspace.
